FAQ's
Here you will find answers to many of the questions that have been asked on the "Cherokee Pilot Chat" messaging board. When you have a question, check here for an answer:
1. Q - Is there camping as an option at the 2007 convention for those who are tentatively planning to attend? A - In earlier years we had folks with tents camping under their wing. The facility has no identified camping facility but does have clean bathrooms.
2.Q - What is being lined up for seminars this year? A - We have a whole list of folks looking for slots, ranging from CPA members talking about avionics to vendors talking about their products.
3.Q - Does one have to fly a Cherokee to attend the Fly-in? A - Everyone is invited...you can fly a Cherokee, a Bonanza, a Grumman or even commercial to the event. The world is welcome! It is and will always be a Cherokee event, but what a better way to show the world how awesome Cherokee's and their drivers are!
4.Q - I've never been to Tan-Tar-A. Do most of you attend alone or with your spouses. My wife asked if there would be anything to do if she went with me, and I told her that I had no idea! Just wondering if it was geared for families or more towards the pilots? A1 - It is probably one of the greatest places to take your wife. There is so much to do and enjoy. It has to be the premier place for a short vacation. Very few go without their spouses, and many take the entire family. Many stayed longer after the flyin just because it was such a great resort. Check out the Tan-Tar-A Resort web site as well as ours. A2 - My wife hates everything airplane and accompanied me last year with great reluctance. She and our daughter had so much fun there on their own that she's already been inquiring as to the next fly-in. I think your wife/family would be glad they came. A3 - My wife and daughter (13yo) went last year and had a blast. There are many activities. They went to the pools (indoor and outdoor), indoor water park, shopping, horseback riding etc.. They had a great time. A4 - My wife and my two kids, now ages 11 and 14, have come with me to the last two CPA fly-ins. There is so much to do at Tan-Tar-A, they will NOT be bored. Just hang on to your credit cards! A5 - To go without your spouse is to be asking for a divorce! When you get home and tell her about all the stuff she could have done, with and without you, she will probably think the unthinkable! Bring her with you. Check out the "Event Location" page on this web site, and look over the pictures from last year, and then check out the Tan-Tar-A Resort web site.
5.Q - Where can I leave my pet? A - Lake Hills Veterinary Clinic (573) 302-8100 will board pets. They are located about 1 mile down Hwy KK from the airport. Lake of the Ozarks Animal Hospital (573) 346-5733 is about 8 miles form the airport and they have a larger Kennel.
